This series began as a tribute to women and coincided with a cross-country move from the east coast to the west. The moon, having long been associated with "Woman" in art, myth and alchemy, was a natural choice of subject on many levels. However, as time went on, it became clear that these photographs were also about the inter-connectedness of people across the country and around the earth, as we all see the same moon. Able to be directly observed and contemplated, it is a uniquely unifying presence in the sky and a fitting tribute to women in the end.
